Our approach to winemaking is quite simple. Let the natural flavors of our beautiful grapes and terroir lead the way to creating elegant wines with a sense of place.
Each of the wines are crafted solely from estate grown fruit - from our everyday drinking L'aura Chianti Classico to the Podalirio Merlot with a true Tuscan sensibility, and our Sei Gran Selezione, well-deserving of its strict classification, to the one-of-a-kind Livia Bianco and favorite summer-sipping Furtivo rosé.
L'aura Chianti Classico was the very first wine produced by Querceto di Castellina in 1998, with about 3,300 bottles.
The Querceto di Castellina production has consistently grown over the past 19 years and we’re thrilled to share the wines with wine lovers around the globe, selling in key markets within the United States, Canada, Russia and throughout Europe. And it's always a pleasure to personally introduce each guest of the winery and agriturismo to our natural elegant and organic wines.
FURTIVO
IGT TOSCANA
ROSATO
Variety: Sangiovese
Aging: 4 months stainless steel tanks
Current release: 2019 NEW RELEASE
Our Furtivo rosé is one of the newer additions to the portfolio and has made quite a splash, so to speak. Furtivo translates to “sneaky” and it’s so exceptionally drinkable that you’ll finish a bottle and be onto your second before you’ve realized it.
An elegant and energetic, pale and lightly perfumed rosato. Highly drinkable, though should you wish to think, there is plenty to ruminate over in terms of aromatics and flavours - wild rose, wild strawberry, Florence fennel and thyme. The palate is bright and crisp, eminently drinkable, the acidity seems to retune the tongue. Drink with a simple picnic, an elaborate salad or a cheeseboard full of young fresh cheeses.
