A Holiday Recipe from Laura

Gnudi with a Butter & Sage Sauce

Depending on where you are in Italy, a Christmas table can look quite different. Every region, province and of course every family has their own holiday traditions and dishes. On Christmas morning, you’ll typically find Laura working away in the kitchen preparing Gnudi, the naked ravioli of Tuscany!! She shared her recipe for gnudi with a butter and sage sauce in a recent Facebook Live.

A Winter Recipe from Laura

We were back Live in the kitchen with Laura recently to cook up a classic and comforting Tuscan bread soup, Ribollita. This is one of our absolute favorite winter dishes to warm us up during the chilly months to come.

Holiday Gift Ideas

Holiday Tasting Pack + Private Virtual Tastings

This will be a holiday season like no other with less travel and smaller gatherings and most likely we’ll all be seeking ways to celebrate and stay connected with our friends, family and perhaps colleagues from far.

With this in mind, we’re excited to introduce our Holiday Tasting Pack with a Zoom Tasting and our Private Virtual Wine & Artisanal Cheese Tasting.

Fall Recipe from Laura

Sausages with Grapes

Fall time here in Tuscany has to be one of our favorite seasons between the energy surrounding the grape harvest, the rich and vibrant colors covering the countryside and seasonal dishes like Salsiccia con Uva (sausages with grapes).

Our Summer Vineyard Dinner Series

We honestly were not planning to host our Vineyard Dinners again this summer but we received so many calls and emails inquiring about them that we simply could not resist. Join us to wine and dine among the vines on July 18th, August 15th and September 5th.

Recipes from Laura

Antipasti Toscani

A few weeks ago Laura prepared a lovely selection of appetizers during one of our Facebook Live Cooking Demos. On the menu were a crostone with salsiccia and stracchino cheese (a toasted piece of Tuscan bread topped with pork sausage and stracchino cheese), a classic bruschetta and a crostino (a more bite-sized version of a "crostone") with fresh fava beans and Pecorino cheese.

Re-Opening June 5th

Our Commitment to Our Guests

The time has finally come for us to safely open our doors and welcome everyone back to Querceto di Castellina! The health and well-being of our guests, partners and community is our top priority and with this in mind, we’ve made changes to ensure everyone’s safety and provide peace of mind when visiting our oasis in the Tuscan countryside.

Recipe from Laura

This past Saturday Laura shared her recipe for this classic Italian dessert with ladyfingers during another one of our Facebook Live Sipping Sessions. As always, she puts her own twist but with an eye towards tradition. The beauty of her Tiramisu is the lovely balance it strikes between being incredibly decadent but also light and airy.

Recipe From Laura

Lasagna with Zucchini & Pesto

Laura’s lasagna simply melts in your mouth with every bite and as you can imagine, it is for sure a favorite among our guests at Querceto. Her recipe calls for delicate, thin sheets of egg noodles beautifully layered between a creamy, flavorful bechamel sauce mixed with pesto and zucchini.

Recipe from Laura

Ragu alla Fiorentina

Laura kindly opened up her kitchen once more to join Jacopo and Mary for another Facebook Live Sipping Session. This time she shared her Florentine-inspired ragu recipe.

Recipe from Laura

Pomarola (fresh tomato sauce)

A simple, fresh tomato sauce, or “Pomarola” is a must-have in anyone’s cooking repertoire. Laura happily opened up her kitchen for one of our recent Facebook Live Sipping Sessions and shared her recipe for a bright and incredibly tasty tomato sauce.

New Wine Release

Our Furtivo Rosato 2019

We know many of you have been anxiously awaiting the new release of our Furtivo rosato and the wait is over. It’s time for sunny, rosé-filled days with our 2019 vintage.

Laura's Penne Pasta With Pancetta, Porcini & Black Olives

These days we’re finding relief and joy being in the kitchen and it’s those dishes that we’ve cooked up and enjoyed more times that we can remember that are giving us the most comfort. Laura’s penne pasta with pancetta, porcini mushrooms and black olives is a rustic dish that surely falls into the category of comfort food for us.

We had a visit from Kristy Wenz of Winetraveler, a fast-growing wine-travel focused media company.

She put together an amazing 5-day itinerary in the Chianti region, featuring Querceto as the place to stay and provide a number of other fantastic recommendations.

We received some excellent news to end the year for us at Querceto from our friends at Wine Spectator. The Sei Chianti Classico Gran Selezione 2015 was given 94 points and was featured in their member’s only Insider Newsletter as one of the most exciting news wines tasted by their editors.

New Wine Release

Introducing Venti

This new additional to our portfolio was crafted in celebration of the 20th anniversary of Querceto di Castellina. It is a bold, yet elegant wine showcasing the best of our Sangiovese and Merlot grapes. With only 800 bottles, Venti is a special, limited release wine and will only be available exclusively from the winery.

The Evolution of Querceto

It was the fall time 20 years ago that we handpicked and selected the grapes to go into the very first vintage of the L’aura Chianti Classico from Querceto di Castellina.

In celebration of the 20th anniversary of the Querceto winery, we’ve evolved the “look” of our organic estate and redesigned the logo and wine labels.

20th Anniversary

This fall is the 20th anniversary of the very first harvest at Querceto di Castellina. We’re extremely proud of the past 20 years and are thrilled to say we have some great momentum as we enter the 3rd decade of winemaking at our organic estate.
