The fall time in Toscana! What a beautiful and exciting time of the year here.
The 2021 harvest is now behind us and we’re incredibly optimistic about the wines, which are now quietly aging in our cellar. We will harvest our olives soon and simply cannot wait to taste our freshly pressed extra virgin olive oil.
We also have exciting new vintages for everyone.
We’ve been loving the new vintage of our L’aura, the 2019, and the Venti 2017 – tasting notes below. The new Livia, 2020, and Podalirio 2018 are also now available and they are truly delicious.
L'AURA CHIANTI CLASSICO DOCG 2019
Lions, tigers and bears, oh my! Our L’aura 2019
Gazing down into the glass, colors sparkle as ruby as the slippers of Dorothy Gale. Our L’aura Chianti Classico 2019 has subtle aromas of poppies on the nose and one begins to wonder if this wine might be the work of a certain wizard.
Alongside those red flowers are intense red fruit and fresh herbal notes of cherry, raspberry and bay leaf and those aromas translate onto the palate.
There is a beautiful sense of energy and reserve about this vintage. Under layers of ripe fruit lies a powerful tannic frame, and a resounding acidity that ripples appealingly across the palate. A wine for those looking to engage their head and their heart. Courage will absolutely be bestowed by a glass.

VENTI IGT TOSCANA 2017
Memories of wooded paths and sweet, blackberry-stained fingers and the promise of pie!
It is curious to feel so many memories of childhood return with a good glass of wine, but perhaps childhood is when our sensory awareness is most acute and undistracted.
The color, aromas, flavors and texture of our Venti 2017 certainly recall the adventure to find wild blackberries, of sweet, stained fingers and the promise of pie should any berries remain in the basket.
The aromas of the wine are decadent and compelling - blackberry, blueberry, morello cherry, almond and enticing sweet spice, cinnamon, clove and nutmeg.
The taste is exquisite with the wine translating only the positive qualities of the warm 2017 vintage, with exuberant ripeness, drenched in forest fruits, generous and velvety in texture. Did we also mention the wine is incredibly drinkable and just delicious?
